Happy Galentine’s Day, it’s a thing. I’ve always loved doing styled Valentine’s shoots with my senior models because of the fun colors and of course….all the hearts. This year I decided I really wanted to get funky with it and bring a more fashion editorial style to it. After lots of pinterest and Forever21 researching I found my vision. I invited both my 2018 and 2019 Senior Models to partake. I thought it would be neat to have them do something together and they were all over it. If you know me you know I love some good props. I’ve never been afraid of incorporating props for photoshoots and honestly love experimenting with them. Sometimes posing can look so stiff so to me it’s nice to have other objects to work with making it more natural. Target was my friend when looking. I found the #gals balloons, red paper hearts, “No Boys Allowed” streamer and of course box of chocolates and flowers there. I already had the phone, oversized sweetheart decorations (last year’s Target find) and the oversized Teddy was borrowed from a previous senior model.
Originally we were going to shoot outdoors but when 38 became the high with lots of wind I knew we had to find an indoor spot to make this work. A good friend of mine had rented my favorite natural light studio for the day, The Lumen Room. I reached out to see if she had any space for us to come for a quick bit and get some images. Like a true friend, she let us use her 1 hour opening that she didn’t have booked so my girls didn’t freeze to death.
I love how they all came out, even in the limited time we had to shoot I think we got some amazing images. These girls are complete naturals in front of the camera and made my Galentine’s vision come to life.
